Las fosas de Estepar son un símbolo candente para quienes vivimos como propios cada mujer y cada hombre asesinado, deportado, exiliado, encarcelado y torturado durante los cuarenta años de dictadura militar fascista. La profunda ofensa a la verdad, la justicia y reparación sigue operativa durante otros cuarenta años de transición a lo que llaman democracia.
Reflejar eso es difícil en un cuadro. El mejor testimonio será pues colectivo, el que ofrezca el conjunto de la exposición gestada desde Espacio Tangente.
Mi aportación solo aspira a ser una pieza de ese puzzle memorialista, glosando la presencia de la muerte en la vida y viceversa.
La MEMORIA defiende la permanente presencia de lo no asumido, de lo no resuelto.
The pits in which these bodies lie are a red hot symbol for those of us who identify with each man and each woman who were murdered, deported, exiled, imprisoned and tortured by the fascist military dictatorship for 40 years.Reporting the serious violation of the truth, the attempt at doing justice and reparation have not yet been accomplished in other 40 years of transition to the so called democracy.To reflect all this in just one painting is difficult.
The best evidence must be joint and will be delivered by the various paintings shown at the exhibition organised by Espacio Tangente.
My contribution is intended as one piece in the puzzle in honour of remembrance, a tribute to the dead, a note on their remarkable lives.Collective memory best defends the
permanent presence of the unresolved historic issues, the crimes that have not been assumed yet.
DECLARACIÓN DEL ARTISTA
Como persona me sitúo en contenida “bipolaridad” militante y artística.
Condenado por el Tribunal de Orden Público a cinco años de cárcel por asociación ilegal a la clandestina Liga Comunista Revolucionaria, recuerdo mi alegría al saber de la tardía recuperación de mis pinturas en los almacenes de la Policía Política madrileña, la Dirección General de Seguridad.
Desde entonces, mi bipolaridad no se ha resuelto –por suerte- y mi concepción de la vida oscila entre el rechazo a lo políticamente existente y la aspiración a una sociedad de iguales… Entre el amor a la existencia y el humor ante la vida beckettiana realmente existente.
Con esos ingredientes lleno mis pucheros… y cubro mis etapas hacia el mutis.
I consider myself a moderately bipolar person both as an artist and as a militant.I was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment by the courts because I was a member of the illegal association Liga Comunista Revolucionaria I remember my joy when I learnt that my paintings had eventually been salvaged and were stored in the premises of the political police in Madrid, Dirección General de Seguridad. .Since then my bipolarity has luckily not faded away: my view of life oscillates between the refusal of the existing political systems and my longing for social equality; between my love of existence and my sense of humour when facing reality which has so much of the essence of Beckett. I feed on these ingredients while I am walking towards the exit, out of the stage of the world.
